Yesaya 13:4

13:4 ¹ There is a loud noise on the mountains –

it sounds like a large army! ² 

There is great commotion among the kingdoms ³  –

nations are being assembled!

The Lord who commands armies is mustering

forces for battle.

Yesaya 47:12

47:12 Persist ⁴  in trusting ⁵  your amulets

and your many incantations,

which you have faithfully recited ⁶  since your youth!

Maybe you will be successful ⁷  –

maybe you will scare away disaster. ⁸ 

Yesaya 59:12

59:12 For you are aware of our many rebellious deeds, ⁹ 

and our sins testify against us;

indeed, we are aware of our rebellious deeds;

we know our sins all too well. ¹⁰
